This graphic illustrates the truth of the gospel. We notice the vertical division illustrating the character of God and man, and the horizontal line depicting actions taken and required that the gospel truth may be applied to our lives.
I Corinthians 15:3, 4 teaches the “gospel in a nutshell”: “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again according to the Scriptures.”
John 3:16—God is loving and desires that we would have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Romans 3:23; 6:23—Man is sinful and will experience its penalty. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”; “For the wages of sin is death.”
Romans 5:8—Out of love, God has provided that our sin could be forgiven. “But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Acts 16:31—God offers His forgiveness through our belief in His provision. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,”
Would you agree with God with regard to your sin?
Would you recognize the extent of His love through the sending of His Son to bear the penalty for your sin?
Would you trust what Christ alone has accomplished for you?
This is the Gospel, and sin’s forgiveness is found through your belief.
